A09 MATERIAL UPDATE

Note Before proceeding.. If you have added materials to the RCS database that cannot be found within the ASME Electronic Stress Tables, C-Stl., etc., copy \rcswin\mt\mtall.a08 to \rcswin\mt\mtall.a09 and these materials will be retained.

To update MTALL.A09 using MTALL.A08 material list...

From the RCSWin main window, select Tools->Administrative-Material Update

1. Click on [Mtall_to_Mergemt] and make settings in menu. This will create for example, MERGEMT.A09 from MTALL.A08

2. Click on [MERGEMT] and make settings in menu. This will create for example, MTALL.A09 from MERGEMT.A09 using \RCSWin\MT\A09\*.csv files. \RCSWin\MT\dump1 will open in the default editor after MTALL.A09 has been built. (This may take a few minutes) Please print this file for your reference. This file will show all materials that did not load. These materials did not load because header data changed in a material and the system was not able to load. Run material setup (Tools->Setup->Materials...) and load these materials manually. Verify these materials because some of them may exist due to an RCS update to .A09 material file. You can check a material by typing the RCS material number at RCS Material Data Block, i.e. Type 102 <ENTER> and this will bring up the material if it is in the A09 database.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES AND UPDATES (01.01.10)

( 1) Drawing numbers :

Drawing numbers for all detail drawings will now go through 20 characters in lieu of 14 characters.

( 2) UHX tubesheet program :

(a) Major changes :

1. Added CP, perimeter of the tube layout and AP, area of CP to data input of UHX program.

2. Shear stress will be conservatively Calculated if CP and or AP in data input is zero.

3. Deleted minimum tubesheet Calculation in UHX-12.4(b).

4. Added (more accurate Calculations) for shear stress.

5. Changed Sigma formulas.

6. Added tube joint load calculations. Program has option of welded tubes per UW-20 and welded/rolled per Appendix A-

7. Corrected metric conversion for Poissons ratio in case menus

8. Corrected calculation for Ft_min per Table UHX-13.2.

( 3) Drawings :

(a) Corrected angle only notch on tubesheet drawing.

(b) Corrected seal bar part numbers on BOM.

(c) Corrected program to use file Rcswin\def\bill_bolting.data. Program was not reading data file.

(d) Corrected hiden lines in support "Y" on outline drawing.

(e) Corrected center lines in Baffle drawing when viewed from #19 tubesheet.

( 4) Renamed programs that have security problems in Vista operating system.
